Domain expiry checker

Find out when a domain registration expires, with which registrar it is registered, and what the registry says about it. An expired domain takes a website and its email down with it, so it is worth knowing the date.

Run the free check Free, no account needed. It opens in the ServerMonitor app.

What it checks

Expiry date and days left

When the registration ends, and how long you have.

Registrar

Registry status

Codes such as "ok", "client transfer prohibited" or "hold", which show whether the domain is healthy or switched off.

Name servers

Which servers the domain currently points to.

How to read the result

A check shows you today. Monitoring watches every day.

Questions

How do I find out when my domain expires?
Run the check and enter it, or log in to the account where you registered it. The registrar's dashboard is the most reliable source for your own domains.
What happens if my domain expires?
The website and email usually stop working, and after a grace period and a redemption period the domain can be released for anyone to register. The exact timing depends on the domain ending and the registrar.
Why can I not see the owner's name?
Most registries now hide personal details for privacy. The dates and the status stay public.
Does it work for every domain ending?
It works for the common ones, such as .com, .net and .org, through the modern RDAP system. Some country endings are not supported, and the result then says "unknown".
How can I be warned before my domain expires?
A monitor can check the date every day and warn you well ahead. ServerMonitor does this for every site you add.
